There is only one way to know how a 66 Bonneville sounds when it's firing on all 8. You had to be there when they were running the streets, or in my case it was my daily driver to work as a mechanic. You have to have a passion for these cars to be the guy standing behind the exhaust and feeling both pipes for a cold charge and rubbing it in your fingers to feel the mix.
My 58 Ranchero was another daily driver. Nobody worked out that it had a pumped up 429 with a Chet Herbert custom grind, hand built rotational headers, discs, etc, etc ......... until we were gone. I am all about building cars to drive. They are beautiful pieces of history and need to be driven to be alive.
